Found at last: Another bengali biker !

Too many things happen in my life with sheer luck and/or irony. I had been in the quest for a bengali fellow biker, at least online, for the last one year without any hint of success. I have known a couple Indian bikers and met one of them a few days back on a weekend ride, but I was getting the idea that bengali bikers are non-existent, except me, too rebellious to remain a typical bengali.

Today, like a bolt from the blue, I heard from a guy, brought up in Delhi and Calcutta. And how did he get my email address ? A friend of mine at the university sent out my plans of the upcoming cross country ride for some mapping suggestions to some mailing list. And he picked my blog up from there. Amazing how human networks function.

The guy lives in NYC and rides a Ducati Monster 900. Got to meet up soon for some bengali adda over a cuppa coffee. Can’t wait !

Holy Crap! Talk about coincidences.. I met a Bong rider last weekend. He lives in Charlottesville, VA. He’s been biking for the last one and a half yrs.. He rides a Suzuki V-Storm now. The city is quite close to the Skyline Prkway. It’s home to the Univ of Virginia and has a very charming little downtown and some great restaurants. It’s worth a visit.

I should say I have become a great fan of yours. You are a true multi faceted guy and your riding experiences are mind blowing and simply awesome. I am really proud that you are a fellow Bengali. I ride too but not to your extent. I always wanted to do touring but felt odd to do it alone. Was not confident and strong too. I ride a ZR7 and Gixxer 600. I have done couple of trackdays. Though, i might not be as passionate as you, but i would definitely like to accompany you in some your trips, if you may.

I started off reading your blog today, went for a 100 mile rider around 35 and 1, came back home at 4 and just finished reading all your posts. The passion you have in your interests portrays itself in your writing and pictures. I would definitely like to meet a person like you sometimes.

    Thx
    Abhijit
