Ride to San Luis Reservoir

Being ride-starved for months, a sunny Saturday ride to the San Luis Obispo reservoir energized me up. Been slogging with work over the last few weeks and this 240mi afternoon ride was desperately needed.

Piyush and Niloy followed me most of the way in the Passat while I happily belted along US-101 south to Gilroy, then CA-152 east to the reservoir half way before I-5, and then on I-5 north to I-580, followed by I-680 and I-880 south to home.

The reservoir presented us with visual treats more than I expected. A short deviation to dynosaur point proved it to be a place I have to return to in future.
I am slowly thinking to doing hiking in addition to motorcycling, given such abundant natural beauty present here. I used my camera to my heart’s content, despite the harsh afternoon sun.

Hiking is a great idea, along with motorcycling. I am planning a trip to Red River Gorge in Kentucky this weekend. it’ll be a motorcycle ride +hiking + camping trip!
