damn ! road test !

whenever i have expected something too much i got hurt badly most of the time. today was no exception. was already planning meticulously about the long ride this weekend to PA and washington DC, but thanks to a stupid left turn i managed to fail my motorcycling license test after all these years on the road with 40k kms in India and 3k miles in the USA.

the circling on the parking lot, the double 8-figures, all went just fine. then i was told to make a left, then a right, then another right to come back to the same place. but damn, the first left was meant to be turning on a very narrow road, and i just missed it while looking at the next left… i still cant figure out how i made that stupid mistake. anyway, i took my own left turn, then right and cud still see a car that i thought to be them… alas, i was already failed by then. i took the last right and suddenly found no one was following me. a severe chill went down my spine and a bitter feeling of frustration and anger engulfed me up. i reversed way and reached the test site with a completely broken heart.

80 miles of roundtrip journey. had a good time with the guy who came with me. we met the first time only today and it was nice talking to another biker face to face after a long time.

next test date: 9th june. i just messed up my summer today.

:((

Karma !

one biker said “Perhaps it is Karma. Perhaps there was a Cadillac with a cell-phone yakking driver behind the wheel with your name on the front grill on one of these road trips you were planning.”

at the same time i got a mail from google that they want to interview on friday, at a time when i was supposed to be riding to PA !!! what a coincidence !

    Joy,
it was an accident! Remember this: a kick in the butt is also a step forward. We all make mistakes…blame it on karma or whatever else, it’s PAST. June is the beginning of the summer and DC is not running anywhere. Cheer up and be yourself…

    Hey buddy,

Don’t lose hope. Keeping the spirit of motorcycling alive in a strang-er land itself is a big achievement. You’ve gone a step ahead and bought yourself a bigger bike and have been treading the road(s) of your dreams…so, chill!

Remember the “snake and ladder” game? You got stung, but a big ladder is waiting to lift you up :)
