Interests

My mission of life is to live every moment and get the most out of my abilities. When I am not writing code, I enjoy my time divided between hang gliding, photography, woodworking and motorcycle travel.

 

Hang Gliding

Flying like a bird has been my subconscious dream from a very young age. I was almost sure it was never going to materialize being hearing impaired and unable to handle radio communication if I were to learn piloting a small airplane. Then hang gliding happened like a bolt from the blue sky. Living next door to Mission Soaring Center, one of the best hang gliding schools in the US, I gave it a try. I got my beginner rating (hang one) in Sep 2011 and my life has changed forever ever since. Nothing else compares to the sensation of unpowered flight, without all the high tech gadgets and automation. I am forever hooked to the sky.

 

Photography

I am a self-taught photographer trying to find my own style in street and fine-art landscape photography. Apart from shooting and playing with photoshop, I love printmaking – both color inkjet and traditional b/w silver gelatin wet prints.

 

Home Improvement

I am a tool junkie. I love fixing things and renovating for less. Buying a house in the summer of 2010 made me happily busy and productive nearly all the time. I am keeping a journal on the improvements I did to my home.

 

Woodworking

My career is about softwares. My photography produces digital output and two dimensional prints. I have always loved to create touchable physical objects from my own imagination, whether for daily use, art or pure fun. I pursue that passion by woodworking. I also indulge in the fascinating activity of turning wooden bowls on a lathe.

 

Motorcycling

Motorcycling is my way of life since 2001. I use two wheels for anything where four is not required. Even when wanderlust sets in, I find my motorcycle to be the best way to travel. I already have a few cross country rides (NY to CA and another CA-NY roundtrip) under my belt, but my ultimate dream is to travel around the world on two wheels.
